Glaciology and beyond

Although Alex’s current work focusses almost exclusively on our oceans he has a long-held fascination with the arctic, fuelled by an academic background in glaciology. His early work took him from megaflood gorges in Iceland to melting glaciers on the Greenland Ice Cap, and today he continues to work with researchers at the grant-writing stage; creating engaging outreach proposals for their projects, and opening the doors to future adventures on dry land.
